Product summary

Please note: this model has a Power Management Function. Some induction hobs can be plugged in at the wall, rather than needing an electrician to hard-wire it. If you choose to plug in, the Power Management Function will limit the power to each zone. For example, if you have a 13 amp connection, the heat levels across all four zones cannot add up to more than 12. So, if one zone is on level 8 and you turn another zone to level 7 (8+7=15), the first zone will automatically be reduced to level 5 (5+7=12).

Get a stir-fry sizzling within minutes of switching on with this Bosch Serie 2 induction hob. Induction heats only the base of the pan rather than the glass beneath it, so the surface around your pan stays cooler and less heat drifts off into the room. It plugs into an existing socket, so no electrician is needed, though mains power is capped at 3700 Watts. That means the hob shares power between zones once you have more than two pans on the go, worth knowing if you often cook big batches.

The left rear zone climbs to 3100 Watts when you tap PowerBoost, heating water up to 35% faster than that same zone running at its highest standard power level, based on a large pan filled with water. Handy when the pasta is already weighed out. QuickStart spots where you have set the pan down and lights up the matching zone on the touch panel, so you can pick a level and crack on. ChildLock keeps the panel fixed once you have things where you want them.

Key features

• PowerBoost — Fires up the hob for speedy results
• Plug & Play — Easy installation with no hardwiring
• QuickStart — A speedy set up for easy cooking
• Control Panel Lock — Disables hob controls for safety

Product information

Hob type: Induction

Induction hobs heat the base of the pan directly, so no energy is wasted. They also heat up fast and use precise temperatures.

Heat efficiency: Heat efficiency

Each hob type varies in heat efficiency. Induction hobs heat only the pan base, avoiding energy waste. Ceramic hobs heat specific zones, while gas hobs use flames and lose some energy around the pan edges but heat up quickly.

Number of burners / zones: 4 burners / zones

The number of hob rings you’d like depends on how much space you think you’ll need. They can have as little as one, all the way up to eight. Some also have clever features which join two or more zones together to create a larger cooking space.

Power supply: Plug

Ready to upgrade your hob? Let’s make sure you’ve got the right power supply. If it’s a ceramic model, you’ll need it hardwiring by a qualified electrician. If it's induction model, most are also hardwired, but some come with a plug, you can infomation on the installation section of the product spec. Our engineers can disconnect and install your brand-new hob. Everything will be ready to go on delivery day.
