Got a long griddle pan or a fish kettle? This AEG induction hob has a Bridge button that links two zones into one stretch of heat, with both halves sharing the same temperature and timer setting. Direct Touch Controls run from 1 to 14, so you tap straight to the number you want instead of clicking up through plus and minus buttons. PowerBoost pushes the left-hand zones to 3200 Watts when you need a big pot of water bubbling in a hurry, and the SaphirMatt® finish is AEG's most scratch-resistant, fingerprint-resistant surface.

Hob type: Induction

Induction hobs heat the base of the pan directly, so no energy is wasted. They also heat up fast and use precise temperatures.

Heat efficiency: Heat efficiency

Each hob type varies in heat efficiency. Induction hobs heat only the pan base, avoiding energy waste. Ceramic hobs heat specific zones, while gas hobs use flames and lose some energy around the pan edges but heat up quickly.

Number of burners / zones: 4 burners / zones

The number of hob rings you’d like depends on how much space you think you’ll need. They can have as little as one, all the way up to eight. Some also have clever features which join two or more zones together to create a larger cooking space.
